Activity D: Son Tra Peninsula

Half day or a day trip - travel either by 16 seat car, motorbikes or military Jeep (with or without the driver). Below are suggested stops

Scenic road trip: each location will be about 20 minute-mountain-drive from each other. On the far left is Vietgangz Beach Club Danang, which has a pub, water sports, and mini-mart. If you want to stop by the Vietgangz Beach Club, please aware of these things: water temperature, the last or the first spot to stop by, and how long you want to hang out there, in order to plan the trip wisely. Stops are listed as the suggested order of the road trip, but you can do anything you want.

There are small local restaurants, and InterContinental along the road. The local food quality is unknown. If you hesitate to try local food for lunch, please pack some food and snack with you.

Nha Vong Co

Ban Co Peak

This place is legend of the place where two fairies who were very good at chest, used to compete each other.

Huge Banyan tree

It is discovered in 1771 and determined by scientists to have a lifespan of approximately 800 years in 2014. The banyan tree is considered the largest tree in Vietnam with a trunk circumference of 10m. It consists of 26 auxiliary roots, and each root is 25m high.

Mui Nghe

Undeveloped hike from 1000 year old Banyan (skip if it is dangerous to you)It was a warzone during Vietnam war in 1960s. You will see the remaining of old blockhouse of American and French.

Ghenh Bang

Seaside spot known for monkeys, with a small sandy area, rocky slabs and greenery-covered crags

Bai Da

You might have to pay to get down to the water. If you are already satisfied with the scenic drive, you can skip this stop.

Mui Sung

Mui Sung is the snout of a mountain reaching out to the sea with formerly placed cannons to protect the sea from invaders. Perhaps that’s why this place is called Mui Sung (the head of the gun).

Linh Ung temple

The best place to watch the sunset after a long road trip. Linh Ung temple has the largest statue of Quan The Am Buddha in Vietnam with a height of 67m. The Lady Buddha Statue with its back leaning against the mountain, eyes facing the vast ocean, hands giving peace and happiness to the people.

Vietgangz Beach Club Danang

Water sports: kayak, jet-ski, canoe tour, windsurfing, floating boat, etc.

Activity E: Da Nang - Half of Hai Van Pass

Half day or a day trip - travel either by 16 seat car, motorbikes (with or without driver) or military Jeep (with or without the driver).

For those who will continue to Hue and Phong Nha on Feb 5th can skip this activity because we will do the entire Hai Van pass on Feb 5th anyway.

For those who will leave on Feb 4th and still want to experience a part of the road trip, can do a half-road trip to the peak of Hai Van pass and return to Da Nang. In addition to the suggested stops below, there are many spectacular spots you can stop to enjoy the view. The trip will take around 2-4 hours.

Ran Nam O

This is a local camping site, and still close to the city. It is better to eat here rather than on the Hai Van pass.
